VinCSS, a Vietnamese technology startup, has been honored by Frost & Sullivan with the 2024 Transformational Innovation Leadership Award in the global IoT Security industry. This marks the third consecutive year that VinCSS has received rewards from the renowned market research and consulting firm.

IoT devices have long been integral to personal life and organizational operations, with tens of billions in use globally. However, these devices often serve as vulnerable entry points for cyberattacks, exposing sensitive data and enabling large-scale attacks due to their valuable information, numerous security flaws, and insufficient protection measures.

Recognizing this challenge early, VinCSS invested heavily in research, development, and the application of IoT security solutions from its inception, achieving notable successes along the way. Most recently, Frost & Sullivan acknowledged VinCSS’s pioneering efforts, particularly its innovative use of FDO (FIDO Device Onboard) technology.

FDO, introduced by the FIDO Alliance in 2021, is a standard designed to streamline, secure, and automate the deployment and onboarding of IoT devices. VinCSS incorporated this standard into its diverse ecosystem of solutions, addressing critical IoT security challenges.

In 2022, VinCSS partnered with Pavana, a Vietnamese camera manufacturer, to develop and commercialize the world’s first FDO camera, which is scalable and resistant to most IoT attacks.

In 2023, VinCSS developed a smart car park sensor solution that applies FDO and Bluetooth Mesh technology to optimize parking lot deployment and management, saving time and resources in sensor deployment and significantly enhancing security levels.

By 2024, VinCSS had launched the world’s first FDO Wi-Fi routers and the first FDO network deployment solution, which fully automates the setup and installation of networking devices, reducing deployment time and costs by up to 10 times while ensuring robust security.

These relentless innovations led VinCSS to become the first company in the world to own an FDO certificate and the only company to own 03 FDO certificates to date.

Speaking on the award, Mr. Anh Tien Vu, a global cybersecurity researcher at Frost & Sullivan, remarked: “IoT security is a very big term and there are many companies that are providing solutions and services. But we chose VinCSS for this special award for its unique way of using FDO standards.”

Frost & Sullivan further commented: “While many organizations are still exploring the potential of FDO since its introduction by the FIDO Alliance in 2021, VinCSS has taken decisive steps to implement this technology in real-world scenarios. VinCSS delivers game-changing IoT security solutions that address current challenges and set new benchmarks for the future. What truly differentiates VinCSS is its ability to enable organizations, OEM manufacturers, and service providers to adopt FDO standards without investing in building their own infrastructure from scratch.”

Following a rigorous evaluation based on strict criteria for transformational innovation and customer impact, Frost & Sullivan concluded: “With its strong overall performance, VinCSS earns Frost & Sullivan’s 2024 Global Transformational Innovation Leadership Award in the IoT security industry.”
